Jambands.com: Photos of the Day

These photos were orginally published at Jambands.com in September 1999. The top one is of Strangefolk taken at the now defunct (but really cool venue that I miss) called Tree’s in Dallas, TX. Two great bands opened the show, Magpu and Walter Mitty. I believe the show was on a Wednesday and not many people were there. I also remember Strangefolk being really rude because no one was there. This turned me completely off of liking them. I never saw them again, nor purchased any of their albums. The next photo is of Michael Travis of the String Cheese Incident on 5-4-99. Neither are really the best quality in the world, but I was still learning to use my camera. Both of these were taken with my old 35mm Pentax ZX-50 that I got for my high school graduation. I used that camera for about 8 years until I upgraded to a digital SLR. I got some great shots from it. One day, I hope to scan my old negatives to store on my Flickr account.
